Herman Cain…Just another.

Just when you feel there is another choice in the run for President of the United States, along comes Herman Cain.

Now, I’m not saying I have been on the bandwagon to elect Herman Cain to the office. Just way to early to make a choice. But I have been watching. Although he is not completely qualified for the position, it was a fresh idea that a business man could (maybe) do the job better than our past tendencies to elect straight up politicians.

Now I see it for what it is. Just another guy, getting into the arena, claiming to be able to help America get going again, and watching as Mr. Cain, getting caught up in the political game and turning into just another politician. Just what we need.

From the outside looking in, I had high hopes that America was finally ready to start looking at the common man (woman) to lead this country, hence the appeal of Herman Cain. But when someone shakes out the skeletons in the closet, I think it is how you deal with it, is the measure between man and politician.

Herman Cain is clearly just another politician. Lying, covering up lying  and making up anything that will cover up more lying. I AM TIRED OF BEING LIED TO!

I don’t really care about his sexual harassment problems from 15 years ago. One woman or 20 women, makes no difference. I get it. Whether true or false the accusations, makes no difference. The behavior itself is wrong, if true. Notice the IF. Since the beginning of Sexual Harassment Laws, it has been common that people have taken this opportunity to falsely  accuse an individual, or mistaken a comment or gesture as an  advance. And in many cases, justly. But all that being said, I don’t really care if the accusations are true or not. It’s the way that Mr. Cain is handling the whole affair.

When first the news hit the stands and airwaves, he flat denied it, then when pressed he couldn’t recall. With the media pressing for clearer answers, he suddenly went as far as saying that he had some memory of the National Restaurant Association (the other NRA) having settled  some such charge, of which he did not know the details. It went on and on. Hour by hour the information became clearer, Two women, five figure settlements, now a third woman jumps into the fray. When does it end?

To the political side, when Mr. Cain instantly became the politician… When he decided that his best excuse was to blame Rick Perry’s organizers of putting out the information. Just another dirty politician, running for office in the same manner as all the others.

I wish, just one time, there was one guy or woman running for office, that would just do it right. We all have skeletons. If Jesus Christ was running for office, rest assured that someone would dig up dirt. Remember how he went haywire in the temple/market? Flipping tables, scattering money,  almost to the point of kicking someone’s…. you get the point. If Christ was running for office someone would dig up that tidbit and throw it out there. And Jesus would be forced to explain himself. Of course he would have an answer. Before anyone beats me for comparing Christ to Mr. Cain, rest assured I am not. I am merely comparing skeletons to skeletons.

Mr. Cain handled this bit of news WRONG. Instead of covering up, lying and pushing blame elsewhere, he should have simply admitted all the facts as he knew them. (and he did know) With a single statement he could have defused the whole thing and let the chips fall where they may.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, I am Herman Cain. I am running for the Office of President of the United States.

It has ben published by the media that 15 years ago there were accusations made by individuals working at the NRA along with me. These accusations were of Sexual harassment against two women. I feel that they were false accusations, however; The National Restaurant Association chose to settle the cases. Paying each woman and unknown amount of which I was not part of the discussion. I was in fact accused of the charges and have deep regrets to the incidents leading up to them. ANY QUESTIONS?”

Now with that single statement and a few HONEST answers to questions, this whole thing goes away. Now, whether he survives to run for office would be up in the air. But he would have demonstrated his honesty. And that’s the part that separates the common people from the politician.

Have a great day America
